Pepa daughter of Cité Soleil, is not at his first try

Born March 22 in a district called Ti AYITI in Cité Soleil. Géraldine PÉPÉ, professor, student in Education Sciences, seamstress, to name just that.

« Everyone’s Pepa » is the favorite nickname of his friends. She is a young woman already seasoned, who has to his credit huge achievements. Such as the creation of the Haitian Youth Society (SJH) in order to organize training for young people, the Vision of the Youth of Haiti (VJDH) that she integrated at the age of 17, the creation of Miss Pepa’s Letter and Theater Show (MPSLT) and she is a member of the Paris Haiti Foundation.

Passionate about reading and theater, she has already written two texts: « Elegant woman in the 60s » and « The husband of my mother raped me » which tells the life of some mothers who do not want to react to the idea to keep an appearance in society while their husbands have sex with their daughter.

Pepa ‘s commitment to the community was rewarded on June 25 with the Peace Prize Cité Soleil 2019, awarded by Konbit Solèy Leve. This bonus was created by Louino ROBILLARD in the idea of encouraging the young leaders of Cité Soleil.

Confides Pepa who says to himself, his involvement in the social is natural since collaborating has always had a big place in his life. For her, the social is a school of life. It taught him not only to become familiar with others by respecting everyone’s values and to release tension so he could simply become better. To do the social allows everyone to his level obviously to surpass himself in the Solitary or collective effort. For her, the Social is a school where you learn to overcome difficulties, overcome fatigue. She goes on to say that it is never easy to volunteer in a community like Cité Soleil, if she had the idea of doing the social and launching the SJH because she always liked to create and innovate, explains the young light of Cité Soleil.

Pepa is a sign of hope for this generation that will have many women who integrate more into social and political life.
